Before I was introduced to essential oils, I thought I was just some what of an anxious person. There were times that I would get worked up over things that really weren’t that big of a deal at all. But little did I know, that there are essential oils that reduce stress and anxiety!
I’ve learned how to easily manage and even avoid stress and anxiety with certain oils, and I’m so thankful! They really do make a difference when you learn to target what triggers your anxiety and which oil to use in certain situations.
Here are my top 10 essential oils that reduce stress and anxiety:
Stress Away is my go to! I have it in bottle form and in a roll on. It’s a relaxing scent mixed of lime, vanilla, and other calming oils. It’s light, and I even use it as perfume sometimes.
I love to diffuse Stress Away in the house if it’s a busy or tense day, especially if the girls are anxious as well. Sometimes I even just rub a drop together in my palms and take a few really deep breaths. I also like to apply it to my wrists, or on the back of my neck. You will never catch me leaving the house without my Stress Away Roll On!
Peace and Calming
This oil really helps me to just slow down and not feel so worked up and anxious. It’s great for kids who are wound up as well. I use it as needed, or especially before bed time. Get yours for free here!
Lavender is one of the best oils to use for relaxation. It is very easy to use: diffuse, add to a bath, apply on the neck and shoulders, or inhale. We always use Lavender before bed on the backs of our necks to calm down and help us fall asleep.
Bergamot is a slightly fruity, fresh and floral scent that helps balance your emotions. It’s great for uplifting bad moods and pairs really well with Lavender.
This is another one of my favorites essential oils to reduce stress and anxiety. It is a rich floral and romantic scent. Ylang Ylang is extremely calming and soothing, and is also great for reducing anxiety to uplift sensual feelings.
Joy is a blend of many floral and fruity essential oils, making a great mix of uplifting feelings and happiness. It is an oil that helps promote happiness and overcoming bad moods caused by stress. I love to apply this on my wrists.
Valor is the fighter oil for anxiety. It helps so much with taking feelings of worry or doubt or fear, and turn them into self confidence and feelings of reassurance. It’s great for promoting a positive attitude during the day, or unwinding at night after a long day.
This oil can be used very similarly to Valor. It promotes deep positive and grounding properties, as well as a true sense of purpose. It has been used since ancient times for enhancing meditation and prayer, and to collect your thoughts.
Vetiver has an earthy scent, and is great for grounding your thoughts and emotions. It promotes relaxation and calming of your nerves, and can be used to help you sleep better if you are stressed.
You can use any of the citrus oils in your combo of essential oils that reduce stress and anxiety. Citrus Fresh is a great blend of many citrus oils that is uplifting and has a bright, fresh scent. I love to diffuse it with other oils like Bergamot or Lavender to balance and boost my moods.

Orange: promotes a sense of peace and harmony
Lime: bright and refreshing to help charge your mood in an uplifting and positive way
