Wondering how to inspire other people?
Imagine yourself being introduced to the most influential and inspirational person in the world. What would they be doing? How would they act? What would they say that really inspires you?
Everyone has inspirational qualities. It’s just a matter of how to use them and to show other people.
You might think it takes some crazy, special, magical formula to inspire someone else, but really all you have to do is put your true self out there. Someone will relate to you and be inspired.
Here are some really useful ways to inspire other people:
1. Ask them a question that makes them think deeply.
And not just a question like “how are you?”, or “where are you from?”. Ask a question that makes them think, and make it a feel-good question that will affect them in a positive way.
If you do this, they will really have to think about the answer, and then they will remember their conversation with you because of them digging deep in their mind. They will associate that feeling and thought process with you because of you asking that question!
So next time you meet someone and are having a conversation, ask something like “what inspires you?”, “what are your goals?”, “what would you do if ____?”, “what are your techniques for ___?”, “what is your dream job?”, “how did you achieve ___?”.
2. Find your own strengths and let them shine.
In order to leave an inspiring impression on someone else, you must know yourself.
Think about what your strengths and weaknesses are. Let your strengths shine (but not too bright), and know where to improve to overcome your weaknesses.
If you know you are knowledgeable in a certain subject, and you are talking to someone about it, tell them what you know. Don’t hold back, but don’t make the other person feel like they are below you. Which leads me to #3….
3. Be confident, but not cocky.
When you look up to someone as a leader, what is one of the first qualities you would follow after?
In order to inspire other people, you must have confidence and be sure of yourself. BUT- there is a big difference in inspiring someone with your confidence, and being straight up cocky.
If you put off that you are a know it all person who has more success than others, that is the least bit inspiring. Show others that you are confident in yourself and that they can be too.
Being confident is showing others that you are comfortable with the person you are, and you feel good about what you are doing. Show other people that you like who you are and are proud of what you have done.
4. Be yourself, always.
Stay true to who you are and you will attract people who want to be like you and who are like you.
Don’t try to please fifty different kinds of people. It is exhausting and time consuming, trust me. Just be yourself, and you will shine to those who matter, or also known as your target audience.
Also, you never know who is watching you and what you do. So if you always stay true to yourself and try your best, it will inspire other people!
5. Share positive energy.
How would you inspire other people if you talk and act negatively? Or if you were boring?
A huge factor to inspiring people is to be positive and full of energy. Talk with positivity. Compliment the person or what they have been working on!
I will be way more drawn to a person who is talking with energy about something good, than a person who is ho hum and complains about things.
Even if there is a negative situation, conquer it with positivity. Be happy about things. Show that you are energized about what you are doing.
It may even be as simple as changing words in your vocabulary. Instead of using words like “no”, “not”, or even “hate”, use words like “good”, “love”, and “do”.
6. Share a goal you have achieved.
Tell them about how and why you set a certain goal, what you did, and how you achieved it. Then tell them how great it made you feel! (But once again, don’t brag and be cocky about it! Share it politely and nicely.)
Share your success and happiness with others. If you can show that you set your mind on something and achieve it with happiness, you will inspire other people to do the same.
Always, always smile! When you meet someone and you shake their hand or say “hi”, do it with a smile.
Even if you are on a computer or phone, literally smile while you are talking or typing. It will reflect happiness on the other end. They will feel if you are smiling or forcing a happy voice, so just smile anyways!
If you are working on something really important to you, smile while you do it. Smiling will increase positive feelings, and those happy feeling will be contagious, which will inspire other people.
Forcing yourself to smile and even laugh can even brighten your bad mood!

Now go inspire other people! Do it! 🙂
Want to know what inspires me? Here’s just a few things:
- Feel good books like Daily Devotions by Joyce Meyer, What Your Heart Needs on The Hard Days, and Hands Free Life by Rachel Macy Stafford.
- Making the most of my mornings. I wake up and get the hard stuff done first. I’ve found my mornings to be more relaxing and productive thanks to the course Makeover Your Mornings!
- Listening to upbeat and happy music. Dancing along doesn’t hurt, either.
- Hugs and cuddles from my amazing kids and husband. 🙂
